Internal medicine refers to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of illnesses within adult patients. Internal medicine physicians specialize in long-term care and are able to handle a variety of simple and complex diseases.

SouthCoast Health’s Internal Medicine department offers a full range of quality care for the whole patient. Our highly skilled and experienced physicians provide an essential first-line of care specifically for adult patients. They combine extensive training, often with sub-specialty board certification or special training, with excellent communication skills to diagnose and treat illnesses.

SouthCoast Health Internists practice preventive medicine and the promotion of health. In addition, they treat puzzling diagnostic complications and are trained to deal with severe chronic illnesses and manage several other illnesses at the same time.
